Sheena Li, Research Scientist at RIKEN Institute, Wako, Japan. She is interested in using high-throughput methods and analyzing large genomic and proteomic datasets to discover therapeutically relevant small molecules and to tackle fundamental problems in biology. The goal of her postdoctoral project is to discover the mode of action of compounds from a diverse natural product depository. She utilize budding yeast, an excellent model system for a plethora of high-throughput approaches in chemical biology and functional genomics. From her Ph.D. training, she has in-depth knowledge and experience in the biochemistry of transmembrane complexes, with a focus on enzyme regulation, vacuolar/lysosomal function, and pH homeostasis.
