Dr Barak is one of the founding fathers of the Israeli Association for Traditional Chinese Medicine He was Deputy Chairman and academic secretary of the Medical Society of Acupuncture of the Israel Medical Association (1996-1998) and one of the experts invited by the Kneset (the Israeli Parliament) to write the “Law of Acupuncture” which arranges legal duties and rules for the practice of the specialty.
Has appeared on more than 200 TV shows and Radio programs and in a 2012 poll was chosen as one of the 10 most influential personalities in Chinese Medicine in Israel by his fellow practitioners.
He runs a Chinese Medicine private clinic in Tel Aviv specializing in Fertility, Gynecology and Children, with emphasis on Emotional/mental disturbances
Since 1992 has been teaching Traditional Chinese Medicine in various institutions, including the Bar-Ilan University, The Hebrew University School of Pharmacy and the Faculty of Medicine, where he founded, directed and was senior lecturer of the Chinese Medicine Course.
In 2005 published, together with his life companion, Anat Zahor, a Yoga and Meditation Teacher, the book “Mapa Guide to Healthy Living”, which deals with healthy way of life and natural solutions to many ailments.
