ASHER TAL
PROF. ASHER TAL M.D
Asher Tal, Professor of Pediatrics, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer-Sheva, Israel, founded and has previously been the head of the Pediatric Pulmonary Unit at Soroka Medical Center. During the past 15 years, he has also been the physician in charge of Soroka’s Pediatric Sleep Center. Soroka is affiliated with the Faculty of Health Sciences of Ben-Gurion University of the Negev.
Prof. Tal’s research interests include childhood asthma, bronchiolitis and wheezing in infancy, sleep-disordered breathing, pediatric and adult obstructive sleep apnea syndrome, and insomnia.
Prof. Tal has authored or co-authored more than 100 publications and is a member of the editorial board of the Journal Pediatric Pulmonology. Since 2008, Dr. Tal has chaired the Israeli Association of Pediatric Pulmonology until 2014.
Prof. Tal retired in February 2015, and continues to be the Head physician of Millenium Sleep Laboratories in Beer-Sheva, Israel, as well as VP of clinical development of AIT LTD, Israel, a company that develop inhaled nitric oxide as a potential treatment for bronchiolitis and LRTI. In addition, Prof. Tal continue to be involved in clinical research in collaboration with the Pediatric Pulmonology Unit at Soroka Medical Center, Faculty of Health Sciences, Ben-Gurion University of the Negev, Beer-Sheva, Israel.
